A Quick Guide to the WoW Level Zones

300x250 leveling A Quick Guide to the WoW Level ZonesIf you’re a newbie to World of Warcraft, then you probably know that the game involves exploring a huge virtual world, called Azeroth, during which you go on various adventures. Just like our world, the World of Warcraft is divided into different areas; in the game these areas are called WoW level zones since they provide an opportunity to go leveling. At present there are four major continents in Azeroth: the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Northrend and Outland, each of which has its own WoW level zones.

Wow Level Zones Territories

Each continent is also divided into different territories depending on the status of the players’ PvP flags.

In an Allliance Territory, Horde players will find their PvP flags turned on, allowing them to be attacked by an Alliance player at any time.

In the Horde Territories, the opposite is true: the PvP flags of Alliance players will be turned on, allowing them to be attacked by Horde players.

Note that in both of these territories it is not relevant whether or not you are on a PvP server.

Contested Territories are zones on PvP servers in which all players PvP flags are turned on, permitting attacks between members of opposing factions. Although some of these zones are affiliated with various factions, more of them either favor both or none of the factions.

In Combat Zones, all players are flagged for PvP combat, even if they are in a PvE realm.

Sanctuaries are areas where PvP is disabled for all players. However, players can still be attacked by monsters which are not PvP NPCs if they aggravate them.

Wow Level Zones Continents

The Eastern Kingdoms consist of three continents – Azeroth, Lordaeron and Khaz Modan – and are home to the races of humans, dwarves, gnomes, blood elves, the undead, worgen as well as a few remaining high elves. Leveling from levels 1 to 85 is possible in this area.

The western counterpart of the Eastern Kingdoms is Kalimdor, and is also divided into three major continents – North Kalimdor, South Kalimdor and Central Kalimdor – and is home to the major races of draenei, night elves, orcs, trolls and tauren as well as minor races such as demons, centaurs, naga and orcs. Leveling from one to eighty-five is also available in Kalimdor.

Northrend is the northernmost continent of Azeroth, and is the home of the evil Scourge as well as being host to the Icecrown Citadel, the seat of the nefarious Lich King. The continent was introduced in the WoW expansion, The Wrath of the Lich King. WoW level zones are available starting at level 58 up to 70.

Outland is an extra-dimensional realm composed of the shattered remnants of the red planet Draenor, the home of the orcs as well as the being the refuge of the draenei. Outland is also the current home of Illidan Stormrageand and his men. WoW level zones in this area are available from level 68 up to eighty.

In addition, there is The Great Sea between the different continents. There are three WoW level zones within the Sea where leveling is possible: Kezan (levels 1-6); the Lost Isles (6 to 15) and Vashj’ir (78-82).

How Beginners Can Reach Higher WoW Level Zones More Quickly

Reach Higher Level Zones Faster

300x250 leveling How Beginners Can Reach Higher WoW Level Zones More QuicklyOne of the most difficult tasks for newcomers to World of Warcraft is how to reach the higher WoW level zones more quickly. The last WoW expansion brought the total number of levels to 85 and having to get to the higher ones can be quite a time-consuming slog. There are two main methods of leveling in World of Warcraft: questing and grinding. You should go on as many quests as possible since these are a great way to earn the experience points that you need to level up. And you may even be required to do some grinding on the quest, which will help you level up even faster.

And then there’s grinding, which, frankly is a bore. While many leveling guides claim that grinding is the best way to earn enough XP to level up to higher WoW level zones since it’s faster than going on a quest, others take the opposite opinion. If you have to grind, make sure that you set up your abilities bar with your most valuable abilities lined up so that you can access them easily with one push of a button. This will allow you to perform grinding efficiently while on autopilot.

WoW Level Zones | Find Easily Navigated Areas

Another tip for making grinding for moving up to higher WoW level zones easer is to find an easily-navigated area, preferably with just you and the monsters on it so that you can just go wild without being interrupted by other players. You should also grind at least yellow-level mobs which will allow you to achieve a high rate of grinding without risking getting killed; only grind higher-level mobs if you believe that your class can manage them. And you might want to make the routine more bearable by setting grinding goals for yourself to meet.

WoW Level Zones | Avoid Dying

But you should also not be too overconfident when grinding, since dying will only delay your rise to the higher WoW level zones. When you go grinding stock up on buffing foods that will help boost your stamina when it reaches a low level as well as on bandages, potions and scrolls in case of emergencies. Make sure you’re well equipped so that you won’t have to return to town too often. And you should buy the biggest bags that you can afford to stuff your loot in.

WoW Level Zones | Conclusion

Finally, you can also explore other types of leveling to move up to the higher WoW levelling areas. For example, if you’re in the right class you can join the queue to get into dungeons to earn some fast XP along with your group. You can also earn XP now on the Battlegrounds by doing PvP. But in order to successfully do this, you have to be a team player and figure out what it takes to help your group to win. Don’t go fighting other players in the middle zones or on the roads, even if it earns you some honor since it helps your team to lose in the long run. Keep in mind that you earn XP by winning and not by losing. Looking at a wow level zones map can also help a lot in visualizing the zones.
